How to prevent torn and leaking filter bags

Torn filter bags are a common problem in industrial filtration processes. Tears are mostly caused by backflow. Backflow sometimes leads to filter bags folding over on themselves, causing them to be pushed back out and tearing when the process restarts and the bags are pressurised again.

Broken filter bags lead to unwanted process downtime, fouling and unnecessary extra costs. Luckily, there is an effective solution: backwash supports!

What are backwash supports?
Backwash supports are metal elements fitted on the inside of a filter bag. They support the filter bags and make sure they do not fold, not even when there is backflow. As a result, the filter bags cannot move. In short, this means no more torn filter bags.

If you’d like to find out more about how backwash supports can improve your filter bags during your filtration process, our experts will be happy to advise you on the right solution for your specific filtration process.  Fill in the contact form now to schedule an appointment.
