Water reuse at vegetable processing companies

Water reuse as the starting point

As water and wastewater treatment costs continue to rise, water reuse is becoming an increasingly effective way to cut costs. When you use less water, you also produce less wastewater. It’s a trade-off. However, reusing water is not always an option, because of laws and HACCP regulations prohibiting it in some cases. The only option then is to discharge the wastewater. The charges for that depend on the number of contamination units present in the wastewater, i.e. the more contaminated the water, the higher the charges.

Wastewater filtration

Wastewater can be filtered using various techniques. Solutions we often see in practice include sieve bends, drum filters, screw presses and belt filters. However, these kinds of filters often fail to get wastewater clean enough for reuse, and they also happen to be expensive to operate, because they are high-maintenance, use large numbers of filters and require close monitoring by an operator. As a result, the costs of filtered wastewater are still high. If you want to make the most of your wastewater, a vibrating screen is the ideal solution. A vibrating screen offers an effective way to remove all solids from wastewater.
